Test your idea
If you have been building a track record in your industry over the years that you have been in your job, you have an asset which you can begin to capitalise on.
That asset is called your network and there are people in your network who can help shape your idea right now.
“There’s absolutely nothing stopping me other than perhaps my level of confidence…”
So, whom do you know? Whom could you meet for a coffee just to put your idea on front of them. (You don’t have to sell them anything). You just want some guidance.
The advantage of this approach is that one of these conversations might cause someone to say: ‘That sounds interesting. Call me when you have a programme ready to go’
Let’s call this ‘pre-selling’. You want feedback before you ever build your training programme or sell it.
All you need is an outline. (Not a finished product).
So, what’s stopping you ‘shopping’ for valuable input now so you can ‘test your idea’. Not much, right?
Stop chasing ‘next’
“You are ready”
Sure, qualifications are a string to your bow. You have some and I do too.
But a qualification is just evidence that you CAN do something,
It is no guarantee that you WILL do something.
You and I can ‘collect’ qualifications but for what purpose?
Here are some questions for you to answer right now.
- Have you experience in a specific area?
- Have you an understanding of the challenges in that area?
- Have you credibility in being able to solve those challenges?
If you answered ‘YES’ to all three questions, then you don’t need a qualification to start. You are ready.
Being QUALIFIED to do something and having a qualification IN something are not the same thing? Agreed?
You have a range of options but (let’s be honest) chasing yet another qualification is not one of them right now.
So, stop chasing ‘next’ and start chasing ‘now’.
